The taste is very sour and very dry. No candi sugar, mercifully; this is the "oude" geueze. The lack of sugar makes the beer much more astringent, but also allows the more subtle flavours to shine. More barnyard and green apple ... reminds of a very sour version of Orval (understandable since Orval uses a unique yeast cultured from a wild strain.) Unfortunately, the most interesting flavours do not linger, and the aftertaste is unremarkable except for extreme bitterness.
Mouthfeel is somewhat chalky, but very crisp. Could be refreshing on a hot summer day.
